Teacher Website: www.schlegelbiologyogdenhs.com
Meeting Pattern: Every school day

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course is designed as an introduction to the study of living things and will build and expand on the learning students have done in middle school.  It is in agreement and follows the Illinois State Science Education Standards for early high school students.
We will learn about the unifying themes of biology that allows biologist to study the enormous diversity of life, wherever that life exist        on our planet. As a school that has International Mindedness as its philosophy we will explore the diversity of life in many corners of  the world using technology to communicate and connect with the world.

By the end of the semester, students will be able to:
Transfer information into a table, graph, or diagram.
Understand a simple experimental design
Identify key issues or assumptions in a model.
Understand the methods and tools used in a moderately complex experiment
Identify a control in an experiment
Understand the key concepts of ecology
Understand the structure and function of Plant systems.
